Old Kiss

I've been meaning to add this sketch for a while now as part of the 100% pure love collection. All of the kiss sketches are done on the train and are quite modest in size (all about 210 x 290mm each). They're something I create when I have a lot on my mind - I get my mind to focus on creating the pattern and my energy is channelled into that.

Next week I'll add the rest of my completed sketches from the 'take me home tonight' collection, so my website won't just have the tempting little icons there.

Don't Stop, Baby

I also saw the Kylie concert last night in Sydney. Such great energy - I've already started a few sketches listening to her songs, so I should have them finished in the next few months. 

Bubblicious

I've had a bit of free time at night lately, so I've been able to do a new girl with bubble hair. They take a huge amount of time as the widths of the lines on the bubbles vary to express shape, light and movement in the hair and give it depth. It's also quite taxing on my wrist, so the bubble hair can't ever be finished in one sitting.

Although I find people prefer not to have portraits of other people in their homes that they have no relation to, I've found that they are drawn to my portrait sketches first.

Tonight I'm finishing a pen and marker sketch called "it's ecstasy" which I've been dragging on for some time.

I've also created a fan page for myself on facebook. Now this is obviously not the most modest thing I've done to do, but it had to be done so my friends and their friends could get updates at what I'm doing.

Hello Clippy

I started sketching the below artwork about 3 weeks ago and finished it last night. I was on the train home from work and an asian girl was staring blankly into space, on her way to the airport. Her accent sounded Japanese but she had much wider eyes than most Japanese.

In her hair were what can only be described as a festival of hair clips. Most were just the plain-style triangular ones you pick up at the grocery store, but of course she had the odd Hello Kitty one thrown in for good Japanese measure.

Her hair was much too straight for my bubble design so I decided to use my tipi-inspired triangular pattern to re-create the sharp lines around her face. Check it out at my website... (here)

Re-launching my website.

I've finally found the time to re-do my website in a much more 'user-friendly' style so that I can offer my original arwtorks and digital prints to be viewed and even purchased only. It's a lot quicker to blog on here than to add a seperate web page to my site, and this blog will give people the opportunity to give valuable comments on my artwork.
